Re: Just lost my 3yr old Aussie to seizures

It is not a clear and simple answer. It is most likely a polygenic gene, and if a puppy has "idiopathic epilepsy", all the pieces have to fit. It is the cross that produces, both parents have to contribute. There are many dogs with epi laden pedigrees have not produced. Sooner or later in ...

Re: Question about "mini aussies"

When I encounter people that don't understand I explain it this way. Imagine you wake up one morning to a knock at your door. The person standing there says, "Overnight I built an addition to your home. I'll be living there, now. Oh and by the way, I am going to get my mail in your name. Have a...

Re: Breeders that don't dock tails

I agree with Chris. My thought was be careful that in your need for a tail you buy a puppy from less then adequate circumstances. Seems this is a niche Back Yard Breeders can jump on. Please ask for copies of the parents health testing. At a minimum, you need a copy of their OFA clearance and a copy...

Male one year old Australian Shepherd

Available one year old Aussie to pet home interested in hiking, flyball, luring and agility. Tested on sheep, started in Agility. Excellent recall. My daughter kept him thinking we would do Agility (and he is Auss-ome) but due to College we do not have the time he deserves. Alias Azland Oakenshield ...

Re: Aussie Breeders NW Oregon

I had a litter that gave almost all of the titles for my bitch's HOF. Three of this board members own puppies from that litter. Many of the most serious breeders, I know have had them more then once. I know of an Oops bitch that was exceptional and in fact had an oops of her own. So two generations ...

Re: Aussie Breeders NW Oregon

I agree with everything on the Questions to ask a breeder EXCEPT
Unplanned litters happen to the best of us. It is what a breeder does after
that that should define them. The breeder should still have
all possible health clearances done for puppies REGARDLESS of the planning.

Re: Darling Aussies: Darling's First Litter is Here!

Any puppy put on the ground deserves at the VERY least a puppy buyer contract where the seller agrees to take back the puppy at any time of life. It is important to be responsible for our actions as our rescue system is overtaxed. Secondly at bare minimum parents and puppies should have eye clearanc...
